Simple Humvee Info From Combat Driver
I’ve been playing combat driver pretty heavily since launch while grinding toward the tank, and it seems like a lot of players still aren’t sure how to deal with Humvees.
I constantly see people shooting through the windows, ignoring the tires, or just running away from them, so here are a few things that actually work.
Easy counters:
• Shoot the wheels. Seriously. A Humvee with destroyed tires becomes way easier to deal with.
• If you lay down on flat ground where the suspension doesn’t bottom out, there’s a surprisingly good chance the Humvee will drive over you without killing you.
• Explosives work extremely well. From what kills me most: C4 > grenade spam > RPG > IED.
• Shoot the gas cap. It causes a major loss of fuel and can force the driver to either leave or deal with it.
• If you aren’t running recon, bring a hammer and some build supplies. Even basic builds can make it much harder for a Humvee to run you over.
• Check if it’s unlocked. People leave Humvees unlocked constantly. You can literally hop in and shoot the driver.

Also, devs, please look at Driver XP and the unlock order.
I actually enjoy the vehicle gameplay, but Driver progression right now encourages some really weird behavior.
Driving teammates from a FOB and dropping them inside an HZ should give Driver XP.
Pallet deliveries should give way more Driver XP.
Ground logistics in general should be more rewarding.
And helicopters being able to grab/drop pallets while flying 60 feet in the air at 100 mph makes ground logistics feel almost pointless.
The current XP curve is also wild. The first ~15 levels are around 100k XP total, then it’s roughly another 400k over the next 20 levels just to reach the tank.
I don’t mind having to grind for the tank. I just wish the best way to level Driver was actually being a useful driver instead of repeating the same couple actions over and over.
