For those who've played, what's the combat like?
Summary: Wondering how they're tackling weapon balance and how deep the interaction with gameplay elements goes. Is weapon usage more like Warzone/ABI or does it have some elements of Tarkov/Arma?
Only recently discovered wardogs and will likely miss the next betas.
Context for my POV: the games I played up until now have been tactical shooters with realism elements - R6, Tarkov, (barely)ABI, etc. I've got loads of questions, but I'll simplify them down.
How are they planning to balance snipers and shotguns?
Both are notorious in being difficult to balance. Are they planning to balance them using realism? (Shooting for spine/organs instead of general head/thorax, shotguns having a wide utility range and damagr pontential with sabot slugs) Do we know if complexity would serve as good balance?
Are there limits to attachments?
LPVOs in tarkov are insanely strong. To the point where most open maps pretty much require you to run one to just have a fighting chance. Suppressors as well - they completely eliminate muzzle flash, conceal location far better, but also heat up much more quickly due to such. Are certain weapons going to be limited to certain scopes and tactical devices? I'd at least hope they balance LPVOs them by making eye relief noticeably worse to require an offset or secondary red dot for closer and faster paced firefights.
Interactivity with the game - how far does it go?
I see extraction shooter elements with the purchasing of rounds, magazines, firearms, and their respective attachments, I know about fortification construction and anti air ordinance (using a c-ram to hold down a location would be hilarious) but to what direction is gameplay focused towards? Is it just pushing space with your team, completing objectives, and shooting enemies? Or is there strategic necessity with machine gun encampments, running squads with dedicated machine guns/marksmen/medics, is audio more like rainbow 6 or battlefield 6? Are ballistics simulated closer to tarkov or CoD? What should a player look to do when engaged in combat in wardogs?
Most of these aspects probably won't be in the final release for simplicity and consoles sake, expecting it to be like a warzone/ABI mix, but just wanted to know more.
