Wardogs is the most fun I have had playing a fps title in years
I grew up playing cs, battlefield, and CoD (not really a fan of these titles anymore due to different reasons for each game). As I got older I enjoyed Squad, Arma, and Hell Let Loose.
Wardogs is not perfect but is somehow a perfect blend of arcade and mil sim.
The concept of incentivizing teammates with the in game system of cash is genius. It basically turns all those people you would see as selfish teammates into REAL teammates.
The standard system of revives just being part of how you win because "team play" is the only way to win is never a good enough incentive for people to truly help each other and use the mechanics of the game.
Games like Arma and Hell Let Loose are great. One problem I have with these titles is that you can't get into a game without having to hear everyone complaining that they can't play the game because of their teammates either playing poorly or just outright not participating in the team aspect of the game. What puts me off the most is that in these games, you have to have teammates filling their roles to truly experience the game but no one wants to actually play their role.
Wardogs removes this completely. I never had issues with getting revives. I actually had an instance where someone bribed the max ($500) and my teammate actually DRAGGED my revive away so that they could get the money from it. I'm not even mad or upset because something like that would NEVER happen in these other titles.
The games guns felt great to play with (sometimes sluggish but could always be improved to an acceptable level with attachments). They felt responsive, yet not too arcade like.
The beta also showed how much player interaction is missing from all of our games these days. Being able to talk to the enemy team and actually have banter makes this game so unique.
During the beta I had an instance where I was killed and me and the enemy (that killed me) started to have a back and forth as I waited for a revive. Later that game, I was holding a staircase and the same guy peeked me (killing me again). As I started to talk at them they recognized me and we both said "oh wait, it's you again" while we both laughed and started up the banter again.
Just wanted to share how much I enjoyed this beta. Looking forward to seeing all the Wardogs playing on September 10th.
