Im in love. but
I recently found you guys on youtube and i gotta say im in love.
The 'Addressing Feedback' and '10 reasons not to buy' videos. You guys just get it, from what ive seen anyways. Thanks for making these. Its so refreshing. I wanna jump in even though this probably isnt even the type of genre i usually play. Im actually hyped as fuck and ill do everything in my power to help you guys succeed.
That said, the one thing thats holding me back right now and what i dont understand is the decision to go with Easy Anti Cheat.
Yea, its better than no anticheat. Yea, i would prefer not to give epic games my telemetry data but i can manage/its whatever.
What does matter is that EAC, to me, seems to be as effective at stopping cheater as a door made of wet paper. Every semi decently popular fps game, or rather every game that isnt mainly server authoritative that uses it has a gigantic cheating problem. Apex Legends, Fortnite, THE FINALS, Rust, Insurgency: Sandstorm, Dead by Daylight.
FPS games are just way more prone to cheaters. And ofc this game isnt as big as most of these yet . But it i feel , once this game gets even the tiniest bit more popular, thats gonna become a real problem immediately.
Atleast thats my perception of it/EAC for many years. I guess what im asking is: Is the decision to go with EAC made with confidence and deliberance? Or is there just no other good/realistic option? Which.. i could understand.
//And this isnt even a complain about kernel level anticheats. I used to use vanguard(but i do trust riot a whole lot more than fcking epic games). People run shit as admin without thinking or complaining all the time and for all intents and purposes, running as admin can steal all your data or brick your pc just as well as a kernel level driver. Does make it way more annoying for linux users tho~
Anyways. Thanks for reading and sorry if this topic has already been beaten to death. (:
