One of the interesting phenomenons that I experienced during my playtest of @WARDOGS was that I joined a squad maybe 1-2x as a solo player.
Instead I would just run with the random players I saw out in the field and join in on whatever operation they were planning.
It’s interesting as I’m used to Squads gameplay of you are locked out of classes without joking a full squad. Instead in Wardogs, you have access to everything, you just may not have a consistent cohesive unit if you decide to just side quest around and link up with random teammates.
I enjoyed that style of play, of just primarily using proximity chat to coordinate but having a dedicated squad you’re a part of and planning together would make it a lot more fun.
The biggest takeaway is that proximity chat is such an underutilized feature and I hope that more games start implementing that by default + proximity chat with the enemy makes it so much more immersive.
What was your favorite or most interesting observation from the playtest?
