Do not bring up money as an argument for Heli Balance
Rocket Bird purchase: $12,500
21 rockets: $4050 (450 a stack of 3)
3 Flares: $2250 (750 a pop)
T1amor, 5bandages and 1 wrench: $1750
It costs me: $20,550 to field the LB at startup. And every RTB to resupply costs me 4050 plus repairs.
Dying 5 times in a Rocket Bird puts you 100k in the hole. I can get 100/5 K/D and still be barely breaking even if I dont priority high-pay targets.
And dying is going to happen. Because as soon as there is a modicum of air coverage LBs have to mow the lawn with the skids to avoid being shot down, and even then, when that happens, that just makes it easier for infantry to make swiss cheese of the fuselage. On top of that, you will often times be visible to BOTH team's AA emplacements, and they will have you hugging the ground and hearing the missile tone sound in your sleep.
All it takes is one misjudged turn, one burst to the cockpit. One second early or late to flare. One burst of a CIWS to put me out 20k. And I didnt make 20k on that run (which is likely) Im back at the HQ counting my loses.
And all of that money investment does not guarantee success. You have to actually maneuver on tight spaces, shoot and actually hit your targets because every two rockets costs you almost 1k. And learning how to do that takes money, because you will be shot down more times while youre learning.
Your verba is 800 dollars. You can jump naked on an Igla and ruin my day. You can be Butt-Naked on a CIWS you didn't build, and a 3 picosecond burst of that rotary hound from hell will send me to kingdom come. If you sneeze in my general direction I have to land and repair, or heal again.
So, I put this copious amount of time and cash towards being effective at a specific high-risk, high-reward role, and the argument is that I risk too little to gain to much and should be nerfed?
Whenever you see a Heli Pilot Top-Doggin it on the scoreboard, be sure that its the exception, not the norm. There are thousands of people who bough an LB and didnt cut it, got shot down, -20k in the whole and decided they wanted to invest elsewhere. Or people who try and constantly get shot. You dont see them complaining about AA, do you?
And im ok with this investment. That is the price that I pay because that is my stake. "I have confidence in my ability, so I will invest this amount of money and try to profit" Everytime you buy something in wardogs, that is your stake. That's what your risking losing, and what you will use to make money. That is the betting nature of the game.
Do not bring the "Helis are cheap therefore nerf them" argument to the table. It makes you look dumb. There is a risk/reward relationship, and helis are risking much more than your Budget Bushmaster/T1 loadout.
