Landing troops is far superior to parachuting.

I have noticed that most pilots prefer to hot drop guys without landing, and I have also noticed that most ground troops prefer to jump.

It is my opinion that landing is always the better choice if there is a good spot to do it and the pilot has the skill to pull it off.

Jumping is far less precise and you will likely land in a dangerous spot. You are scattered away from your squad so you can't support each other as effectively. The biggest downside to jumping though, is being spotted before you land. I can almost guarantee that there are sneaky little recon boys squirreled up in their hidey holes just spotting helicopters and jumpers. That means that when you land enemies can see exactly where you are at and track your movements.

You are at a huge disadvantage if you jump. If you trust your pilot to land, try and do so!
