33v33v33 sounds massive, but the battlefield feels strangely empty
I feel like the 33v33v33 format, combined with how spread out the roles are, makes each match feel less engaging than it should.
Hypothetically, in a team of 33:
- Around 4 players are usually piloting or driving vehicles. - Another 10 are focused on building, defending, and supplying the FOB. - That leaves roughly 19 players actually fighting on the frontline.
Since the map is so large and everyone is spread out, you can go for long periods without seeing another enemy unless you’re constantly running around looking for fights. The match may have nearly 100 players, but the actual combat often feels more like a small skirmish happening somewhere in a huge empty map.
Maybe the game could benefit from tighter objectives, more concentrated frontline areas, or mechanics that encourage players to group up and contest the same locations. I get that the hotzone is supposed to serve this purpose, but it still feels strangely empty around 80% of the time.
It feels like everyone is busy doing their own thing.... driving supplies, building FOBs, defending positions, or roaming around... while the actual fighting is barely happening. In a game centered around large-scale strategized and logistics warfare, the combat often feels like the least consistent part of the experience.
Note: I’m not saying I want this game to become Battlefield or Call of Duty. I’m just confused because the more I play, the more I notice that people stop fighting and focus heavily on logistics instead.
With only 33 players per team, it feels like there aren’t enough people to maintain a good balance between logistics, vehicles, defense, and frontline combat. Once players are roleplaying to those support roles, there simply aren’t enough people left actively fighting?.
