Linux players are waiting on an update on when we can jump into the action
Hello! It has been a couple of weeks since the last update on the Proton compatibility, and the Linux community is eager to join in the fun the rest of you guys are having. Previous updates mentioned that support would come "soon after (EA) launch", and would be "fast", and is "being prioritised". But at this point, there's no real sign when it might actually land, or if it's still on the cards at all. It has been a struggle to get any further update.
I know the devs must be absolutely swamped with all of the post-launch issues they're seeing right now, and I'd imagine everyone understands that other issues will take priority. We're just looking to manage our expectations for how long we may need to wait (weeks, months, season 2/3, etc). Any kind of status update would be great. I'm super excited to jump into the game, and it would be nice to have an idea of how long to wait. Dual booting and other alternatives aren't an option for a lot of folks, with some being on Steam hardware and others being priced out of extra storage.
Can't wait to jump in with you guys. I'll be a helicopter taxi as soon as it's playable for me.
