Tips worth knowing
This is a mid-time of first season, and I wish more people would know about certain aspects of the game, to make games more fun and engaging. So, here's list of tips I see not many people aware of:
• Shoot an APC’s roof antenna to disable spawning without destroying the vehicle. It stays disabled until repaired. Every APC carries a wrench and fuel can in its inventory. • If you want to destroy an APC with a Stingray drone, avoid the antenna. It absorbs the hit and only disables spawning. • A $300 IED can destroy most buildable emplacements, including FOBs and mortars. Destroying them also rewards cash and XP, so capture is not your only option. • Crowbars can pry open locked enemy vehicles, although it may take several attempts. This works on Humvees, helicopters, Urals, tanks and artillery, but not APCs. • Regular ammunition can destroy Humvee tires, slowing or completely immobilizing it. • AP ammunition penetrates Humvee windows. You can shoot occupants from outside, or return fire through the windows from inside. • It usually takes around four to six grenades to destroy a Humvee. • Vendor crates being delivered to the Control Zone can be bought out and deposited into a FOB. Depositing the items rewards Support XP and can repay more than the purchase cost. • Hover over crates on the tactical map to inspect their contents before travelling to them. • Ammunition is usually the safest product to sell in vendor crates. 5.56×45 is the most consistently useful, followed by 7.62×39 and 7.62×54. Medical supplies are expensive and much harder to sell profitably. • Press [X] while hovering over an enemy magazine to unload its ammunition. You can also take the magazine from their weapon and unload it in your own inventory. • Carry loose ammunition instead of many magazines. Loose rounds use far less inventory space. • Hold [R] for a faster combat reload. The old magazine and every round remaining inside it will be dropped on ground. • Equipment does not need to occupy specialist slot 3. Keep it in your backpack, assign it to slot 4 or higher and use it through the hotbar. • Hold [4] to open the quick-access equipment wheel instead of memorizing every hotbar position. • Select an item and press [R] to rotate it inside your backpack. • Hover over equipment on a downed enemy and press [G] to throw it away. Removing their weapon leaves them harmless if revived. • Drag downed enemies away from cover or leave them somewhere exposed. This prevents easy revives and can create an ambush for their medic. • Mortars can hold three shells. Range the first shot, press [C] to cancel the shell camera, then fire the other two before enemies can move. • The same camera-cancel technique works with the SPH-2 artillery vehicle. • Hover over a binocular-marked enemy on the mortar map to see their exact distance, allowing accurate fire without direct line of sight. • If your APC spawn is being camped, press [0] to jump directly into the driver seat and [V] to deploy smoke while relocating. • Hold the walk or [Alt] key while climbing ladders to move almost silently. Use sprint while descending to slide down faster. • Never fire an RPG from a helicopter passenger seat unless the area behind you is clear. Backblast can kill passengers inside the aircraft. • Right-click while holding a grenade to switch from the default underhand throw to an overhand throw.
