Wardogs playtest was good but…
Play test was a lot of fun. Never really ran into any performance issues or bugs at all. Me and a few friends had a lot of fun. We come from tarkov so we have experience with these types of games and dealing with the hardcore PvP.
But there was a few things we noticed that desperately needs attention. And I feel over the playtest there’s going to be a lot of people that will probably agree.
#1 the mortars are just absolutely too overpowered. I think having the 3rd person view after shooting a mortar needs to be completely removed. And rely on a player spotter to tell you “go left 10M” or “your 50M short” because the amounts of times people are able to easily get mortars lined up and just mortar spam the towers or certain spots is a bit too much. So I think removing the 3rd person view following the mortars would make it just a bit more balanced and maybe less of a mortar spam that’s 100% accurate.
#2 I never unlocked the tanks, but I think there needs to be a cooldown on how many tanks each team can spawn. 1st day was alright. But come day 2 it was literally just tanks being spawned non stop.
#3 the progression/levelling up needs slowed down. Come day 2 everyone was already level 30-50 with tons of the good stuff unlocked. I’m all for progression, but have it balanced. At that rate, everyone would be max level in a week or 2 with everything unlocked and the game would become very stale. The point we were all at on day 1 should be like that for at least 4-5 days, and slowly progress through to unlock better stuff. Again having all that stuff unlocked on day 2 is a bit fast IMO Needs to be slowed down.
#4 is a tough one because everyone has their own play style which I understand. But I find it was just an absolute sniper fest. Everyone camping on the towers or buildings, for ground infantry it was hard to really do anything because you’re getting sniped at by 6 guys from 2 different teams all at the same time.
#5 hit boxes need to be adjusted. On day 1 when no one was using helmets I could 1 tap to the head. But The amount of times I would shoot someone straight in the flesh part of their face while they were wearing a helmet it wasn’t a 1 tap. Whether it be with a sniper or assault rifle. If I hit the helmet understandable that it could block the bullet. So I’m not sure if once you put the helmet on the hitbox covers the whole head area including the front of face. But this needs to be changed if that’s the case.
But other than those few things it was a lot of fun. And hoping that come release maybe 1 or a few of these things will have changes to them.
