Beta was the best gaming experience i've had in 20 years.
I'm a lifelong gamer. I'm 52 years old and i've played nearly every good game released.
This is the next great game. "Wardogs," it's a tactical first person shooter with 99 players on the map, 3 teams of 33 players fighting for control of the zone, with a moving hotzone within the zone where you score double points for surviving within it.
I first heard of Wardogs during the Alpha and watched streamers like Jackfrags play in it.
I prepurchased the game and was invited into the Beta this weekend. I had an absolute blast and Saturday night stayed up till the sun was rising either playing the game or watching streamers play the game after I got tired.
This game simulates modern warfare in a imaginary city in Georgia. The map is huge and is a giant sandbox for you to play in.
The game has a monetary system, you start with 10k and you purchase unlocks for weapons, items, armor, and attachments, and then you purchase your actual weapons, items, armor and attachments.
You risk your loadout every time you go to war. But you get paid for everything you do to help the war.
You get rewarded for Driving teammates to war, everyone that survives the drive you get money and assist xp for every kill they get in the war. You revive a downed teammate you get money and assist xp for everyone they kill after you revive them. You spot out an enemy and ping them and you get xp and money when your teammates kill that target.
You can build Forward operating bases in the war, and then with a hammer in your inventory you can build fortifcations walls, barbwire, sniper towers, which lead into more and more buildings and soon you can build Mortars, Anti aircraft gun turrets, Anti Aircraft Missiles,
You can fly a helicopter, (It's actually really hard, and easy to teamkill your own team by crashing) You get money from taxi-ing your men into combat, delivering supplies for the engineers, delivering, weapons, ammo, medical equipment, and even oil for the vehicles. Your helicopter pilot skills level up you can pay and unlock a little bird with gatling gun, or rockets, or bigger Huey's to carry more troops, or attack helicopters with missile and gun turrets, and machine gunners on the sides.
It's an amazing gameplay loop you have your cash bank, you risk your money buying unlocks and loadouts, and you go to war. As you progress in levels through xp and with a bigger bank, you can unlock better weapons, armor, items, and vehicles.
There is VOIP in game and you can speak outloud to everyone in the area, which creates some really funny and interesting gameplay experiences. You can chat with the enemy who killed you and is looting your body. You can chat with teammates when you are reviving them, you can call out enemy locations,
There is also a tips and bribe feature. Someone flies you to battle you can tip the driver money, someone resurrects you tip them. And if you are downed you can bribe up to $500 to get someone to revive you.
I made a ton of money tracking down bribe revives over the weekend.
I started the game with 10k, and ended with over 200k in my bank and enough levels to unlock many weapons, items and armor. I had a blast.
The game goes live in September, i've already pre-paid.
The game never crashed, I never disconnected from a match which is amazing in Beta. The frames per second are well optimized.
Yeah, im a nerd to the core, it's true, everyone knows it.
The only thing balance wise, Tanks costing $15k is a joke, to balance the Tank it has to cost $50-100 k everytime, it's way too powerful at 15 k. An infantry loadout on day 2 of the beta cost $13K everytime I wanted to go to the battlefield. Make Tankers take a risk please Bulkhead.
