Tips for a base to actually be useful?

Didnt get to play the playtest but I have been watching alot of videos since I discovered the game and now pre-ordered it after deciding I wanna try.

Primarily I want to construct bases/logistics drop offs but I am looking for advice to make bases actually impactful for the team/objectives.

Any tips/tricks on what I should consider when setting one up?
