Has Bulkhead plans to battle "Idle Servers" and other money making servers?
The money system is such a nice fresh new system and a groundbreaking step for the genre, but since the money persists through all servers people will try all things to afk-generate money, sell money etc.
Are there ENOUGH plans in place to prevent Idle Servers or specialized modded servers to (bot-)farm money?
Any ideas from the community?
edit:
Just a few points people bring up a lot:
"active play earns more"
• We talk about automated bots here. They can operate automatically 24/7 on a big scale. The could just walk/drive to the HZ and chill there with 99 other bots on a bot server that kicks everyone else for example. Or kill each other and revive or something. Even with diminishing returns there are 99 other bottargets so it wouldn't even diminish. Or they even prefer to stay under the radar and not earn so much. "You can't transfer money"
• There are already systems in place where money changes hands. Tip System, Bribe for Revive, Black market sales, gold stock. People totally will find ways! They will be shut down and new ways will pop up. One big scheme could be: • The money buyer(s) buy gold with their cash on a designated date X. Then the bots dump all their infinite cash into gold market making the stock go up. The money buyer(s) and other people sell their gold for lots of profit. The bots are easy to identify, the money buyers not so much. "They talked about it/They will just ban the servers"
• I think it can't hurt to bring this topic up to make absolute sure they didn't underestimated the topic and thought about everything. If they suddenly find themselves in a uphill battle against big botter companies that could destroy the game even if it now seems unlikely. "What does it matter?"
• It there were players with infinite money it will matter to you as soon as when you want to buy gold, which could be in the millions then people can only get gold if they buy money online and suddenly there's a positive feedback loop. Not to mention matches can be decided by money (somewhat) "What would be the point to buy money/you risk getting banned"
• I don't know! It's the same like with cheats. People pay real money and risk their game account for cheats. Wardogs is luckily not free to play, but even then there's always stolen keys or credit card scams. And maybe i overthink it and since Wardogs won't have millions of players it's not lucrative enough. I just want to minimize the chance of this happening by putting it to attention
