Beta Retrospective: Reddit Recap

Hey everyone, The closed beta weekend is over and the energy in the subreddit has been incredible. I wanted to take a moment to share a quick beta retrospective on how much we've grown over the past few days, along with a peek behind the curtain at what's been happening on the moderation side.

Traffic

We hit 2.6 million visits over the last 7 days. That represents a staggering 271% increase in traffic

Our community grew by 81% in just one week

As the beta launched, daily visits skyrocketed. Traffic jumped from 183k visits on August 19th to a peak of 960k on August 23rd. A massive 424% increase

Posting volume surged by 333% (1.3k posts), and comment activity jumped by 175% (20.4k comments) in just 7 days.

For transparency

We maintained an 85.5% approval rate for posts and a 98.6% approval rate for comments.
