Loving the game, but the logistics system is currently very unrewarding for people who do supply runs
I've played about 10 hours in the beta as a dedicated supply runner, and compared to other playstyles, it is extremely unrewarding while also being much more time-consuming. I think it boils down to two major reasons:
• The supply buy/sell-for-profit system is very bad. Right now, a logistics runner has to invest a significant amount of money to buy supplies at the base and then transport them forward, hoping someone actually uses them so they can make a profit.
This doesn't work because people barely resupply at FOBs. As a result, logistics runners often end up losing money despite spending a significant amount of time transporting supplies.
• Resupplying at FOBs is extremely unintuitive. There is no central terminal where you can simply resupply your items. Instead, there are 10–15 crates scattered around the FOB, meaning you have to check each individual crate to find what you need.
And in most cases, the items you need aren't even there because logistics runners generally don't bother bringing anything forward besides construction supplies.
So nobody goes back to the FOB to resupply, which then means there is even less incentive for logistics runners to bring supplies forward.
This creates a feedback loop that makes Logistics extremely unrewarding and prevents it from integrating properly with the rest of the game's systems.
In the 5–6 full matches I played primarily as a supply runner, I made less money than I would from a single life as a transport pilot. And I'm a horrible pilot.
I think the system needs a serious rework if they want to keep player doing any logistics work at all.
