My FOB Building Process
For now it always makes most sense to FOB at a tower, to deny its code to the enemy even if you're drilling instead.
A) Setup:
• FOB terminal with walls and door around, to prevent immediate capture if attacked in setup.
• Mark each corner with a recon tower facing out to rake the walls, and provide friendly firing points while you build. Suggest just 4 corners to reduce manning requirements. Enemy artillery loves small! Build out but leave some ground for barbed wire.
• Tall hesco walls, single gate at rear for vehicles.
• Hesco block climbing points for friendly infantry to exit from without opening gate.
B) Fortifying part 1:
• You didn't go small right? Turn your gate into an airlock on the inside, so the towers can still rake the wall outside.
• Ring barbed wire around FOB with some room to prevent C4 throwing. Leave gap at rear for friendlies. Now some extra barbed wire around any cover and concealment enemies could use. Do long strands extending from FOB to stop enemy rotating around.
C) Ultilities:
• Build CIWS wherever has best air sight lines but is covered from enemy infantry.
• Build mortars etc against walls with hesco surrounding to protect from artillery. Spread them out, don't lump in same corner.
• Encase a spawn APC with hesco and let players climb out in any direction instead of filtering out a door chokepoint.
• Build drill with concrete walls around to protect best you can from artillery.
D) Fortifying part 2:
• Do concrete walls outside up against existing ones. Old hesco now makes a firing walkway. The concrete is harder to destroy or scale.
• Build up internal security with walls and doors. Particularly the corner towers and utilities. Leave room still for logistics trucks!
Tada, my process!
