Rangefinder triggers missile warning?

Hello fellow Wardogs,

a question for all the Recons out there:

Do you know if the scanning/spotting of a helicopter with a rangefinder is triggering the missile alarm for the helicopter pilot?

I noticed in the beta last weekend that when I scan/track a helicopter, they very often enable the anti-missile flairs.

Does the rangefinder spotting triggers the same alarm then the AA-rocket system?
